Who we are
Hi, I’m Sarah! I completed my bachelor’s degree in biomedical studies and psychology at UNBC and earned my master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Alberta in 2017.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including early intervention with children aged 0–5, school districts, and private practice. These experiences have given me the opportunity to collaborate with incredible teams of occupational therapists, physical therapists, audiologists, psychologists, and educators.
I’m a proud member of the College of Health & Care Professionals of BC, certified by Speech and Audiology Canada, and registered on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP). My areas of specialization include early language development, play, cognition, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), working with neurodiverse children, developmental language disorders (DLD), literacy, motor speech, and speech sounds.
My approach is play-based, and I’m known for bringing the best games to sessions—some clients have even dubbed me “The Toy Doctor”!
When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking, camping, painting, or listening to audiobooks and podcasts. I also love spending time with my two furry companions: Tom (Selleck), my ragdoll cat; and Finnley, my miniature poodle.
I’m passionate about helping children communicate and connect, and I look forward to working with you!
